The May Festival
The May Festival is the university festival held annually in May at the Hongo and the Yayoi campuses of the University of Tokyo.
It is one of the largest scales in Japan, with approximately 150 thousand visitors and 500 organizations having participated last year.
The campus is usually enveloped in a calm atmosphere, however, these two campuses will be filled with excitement during the festival.
You can enjoy lively booths and performances. At the same time, you can explore the composed academic side of the university indoors, as well.
The May Festival, characterized both by the energy of the youth and the historically accumulated intelligence, is passing a significant milestone with its 90th anniversary. The festival has been supported by a number of people since its commencement in 1923.
The 90th May Festival will be held on May 20th(Sat) and 21st(Sun), 2017.
We look forward to seeing you.
