About May Festival

May Festival is a university festival of the University of Tokyo, which is held in Hongo and Yayoi Campus every May.

May Festival is defined as a field of academic and cultural activity for years, and its largest feature is the number of academic projects which reflect the accumulation of intellectual excellence of our university. Furthermore, there are about 500 various projects including stage performances, outdoor food stalls, etc. Outdoor stalls by freshers’ classes are also one of the features.

It is one of the largest university festivals in Japan, which welcomes about 150 thousand visitors every year.
