Coverage of May Festival
The May Festival Standing Committee would like to broadly promote the value and presence of May Festival. In order to operate the May Festival safely and smoothly, we request all who consider coverage in May Festival to submit the applications. Only those who pass the screening process of the application contents will be allowed to cover the May Festival.
If you are considering covering the May Festival, please read the following information carefully and submit your application form. The Committee will review your application and inform you of the result regarding your acceptance to cover the May Festival.
Contents Applicable to Coverage
Any act of gathering materials related to the May Festival for publication to an unspecified audience is considered coverage. For example, the following contents are applicable:
- Conducting interviews with Committee members, visitors, and project members
- Taking photos and videos of Committee members, visitors, and project members and campuses
- Taking pictures (recording a video or audio, taking a screenshot) of the official website and its contents
*Posting contents on video sharing services such as YouTube or TikTok, and public accounts on social networking services such as Instagram or X are also included.
Screening Criteria
Applications will be reviewed from the following criteria:
- Whether the main focus of the coverage is relevant to May Festival
- Whether the coverage does not prevent safe and smooth operation of the May Festival
- Whether taken photographs or recorded videos do not primarily feature specific buildings on campus
- Whether facts are not going to be changed or distorted in the process of editing the contents of the coverage
- Whether the image of the University of Tokyo will not be considerably damaged
Cautions
The Committee may decline the coverage or ask you to leave the campuses if the following requirements are not met. Please check them carefully before submitting your application.
- A written pledge is submitted.
- All contents and procedures of the coverage are reported to the Committee in advance.
- All articles or videos are checked by the Committee before they are published.
- An appropriate care is taken to those who have not consented to be captured on camera.
- A vehicle is not allowed to enter or park in the campus as a rule.

*Personal information obtained from the application is only used for the work which relates to coverage at May Festival.
