The 95th May Festival
XXX meets Music ~ Let's talk about the Power of Music!
The University of Tokyo UNiTe

About this project

UNiTe is going to hold a special workshop “the Power of Music that Supports Musicals and Films” by front-line artists and a badge crafting workshop in which kids can have fun as well!

The badge crafting workshop is based on the concept of the EMPOWER Project, taking action with the UN and other stakeholders toward Goal 10 of the SDGs. From kids to adults, you can create your own badge or mirror with stickers and illustrations of your selection.

From 2 to 3:30 pm on May 15th, we invite Mr Kunzo Yasui, who produced hundreds of CDs and musical events such as concerts in Walt Disney Japan, and Ms Risa Uchida, who has been acting on stages, since her childhood, such as “Annie” “Lion King”, and as a leading voice actress in “Kingdom Hearts” for 20 years. They will show you how to put your emotion into music!
On-site participation is only possible for those who have got a ticket from the May Festival Committee, but you can still join us online. The application form for online participation is below👇

About this organization

The University of Tokyo UNiTe

UNiTe is a student-centred club to take approaches to the UN priorities such as SDGs through arts and culture. It runs two projects, the EMPOWER Project and Voice of Youth Japan. “Coming-out by Supporters” is an action promoted by the EMPOWER Project (https://empowerproject.jp). It focuses on showing the willingness to help others, based on an idea contrary to existing symbols which ask for help and consideration for pregnant women. The project is promoting the symbol “Magenta Star” to realise the society where “no one is left behind”. Voice of Youth Japan (https://voiceofyouth.jp) is an online platform that is run in partnership with UNICEF. You can read a lot of “voices” from people of different ages, regions and backgrounds. You can watch the introductory video from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcWLcpJyp2g
