About

Overview

The May Festival is held every May at Hongo/Yayoi Campus of the University of Tokyo, and is one of the biggest campus festivals in Japan.Every year, we have about 150000 visitors that come and see 500 clubs/organizations and their projects at the Festival.

Every year, we have about 150000 visitors that come and see 500 clubs/organizations and their projects at the Festival.

During the Festival, the campus turns into a platform where students can showcase their talents and creativity. Held at one of the top research universities, the Festival not only has outdoor food stalls and outdoor mobile stages but also has an academic aspect.

Although it was held via online for the first time last year, the Festival was a huge success, as it became easier for those who could not have otherwise come to the campus to join in from the comfort of their home.

In light of current circumstances, the 94th May Festival will be held via online.

As the society changes and reorders itself in response to the pandemic, we also had to rethink, reshape, redefine and reimagine the May Festival.

Although the Festival may look different from the past years, we believe that there is something that never changes –– the passion UTokyo students have for their projects, and the excitement that it brings upon visitors. All together, we believe the May Festival can bring some sort of light into your lives.

We hope that you join us in making this light even bigger and brighter.

See you at the May Festival!
